My mother-in-law was in town this past weekend. We were working on getting her blog setup before her 4-5 month trek out West. I got into a little bit of trouble because I haven't been the best about keeping my own blog up to date. This is especially important to her now that they will have limited communication with the rest of the family while they are off enjoying retirement. This is my attempt to get myself back into her good graces. Momma Vicki, this one's for you! =)
As of tomorrow, I will officially be 16 weeks prego. Overall, things have gone very smoothly. My only complaint so far is how incredibly tired I've been. I seem to have no energy at all no matter how much sleep I get. I'm still waiting for this so-called "energy burst" that everyone says comes in the second trimester. I think my energy burst skipped me all together.
My next two doctor's appointments are scheduled for June 29 and July 28. I don't expect anything exciting to happen at the one in June, HOWEVER, the one at the end of the July is the BIG day! That's right, that is when we are hoping to find out the sex of the baby. I'm so excited about finding out that I'm about to bust. Now don't get me wrong, I'm not going to be happier with one sex over the other, I just want to know and know NOW!!! I'm not a very patient person. =)
Jason and I will be taking a mini-vacation at the end of July to St. Louis. We will be spending a couple of nights there and checking out one of our favorite spots there--The Science Center. We might also do a little bit of baby shopping since we will know what colors to start looking for. Didn't I conveniently plan this trip? I'm pretty clever like that. =)
Jason's birthday is coming up next Wednesday. He will be turning 32 years young. He doesn't seem to be having as many issues with this birthday as he has with the last two. Maybe the fact that he's going to be a dad in December has made him appreciate growing older and wiser. I do want to take a minute to recognize just how wonderful Jason has been over the last few months. Not that he's not always wonderful, but he's been extra wonderful since we found out about the baby. He is so loving and considerate of me and the baby. He's always talking to him or her through my stomach and always makes sure to give us BOTH a kiss goodnight. He's going to make the most wonderful father. I can't wait to see him with the baby. I know that he's nervous about knowing just what to do, but he will be a pro in no time.

YES HE WILL!!!! Ellie can't wait to hear the outcome of the sex either - another girl cousin would be heaven for her!! Of course, our family likes boys!!
It was good to read an update on your blog, but you were never really in trouble! Maybe after the baby comes and there aren't any updates you might be. We love you both and can't wait to meet the 3rd member of the family. Only one month now to pick out names! Let's have a vote on the blog of your favorites!
